Description
The architectural projects of René Lalique collaborations played a large part in his career. His highly developed sense of balance and harmony alongside his total technical mastery of glass working made him ideally suited to the challenge of creating works on a monumental scale.
In 1928, he created glass panels to adorn the famous Orient Express train. Lalique recently reissued the “Figurine et Raisins” panel, which is enhanced by the glare of crystal. A female figure celebrates the worship Bacchus among vine shoots and stylized bunches of grapes. Fashioned thanks to the talent and expertise of the glass masters, this panel reveals an exceptional depth while the contrast of the satin-finished and shiny crystal magnifies the fineness of the motifs.
